A MUM-OF-TWO, who firmly believes in extended nursing, has been breastfeeding her four-year-old daughter every day since she was born. Describing it as 'mother's intuition', Cherrelle Granville, 31, from The Hague, Netherlands, says she has always wanted to breastfeed her children for as long as possible - even beyond toddlerhood. When Cherrelle had her first child Christiano, now 11, she was forced to stop breastfeeding him at aged two after her desire to continue was met with disapproval among family and friends. As Cherrelle began to educate herself on long-term breastfeeding, she was welcomed by a community of mothers who shared the same belief and gave Cherrelle the support she needed. After her daughter Cavani was born, Cherrelle decided to fully embrace the nursing method, regardless of what others might say. Four years later, Cherrelle has been breastfeeding Cavani at least twice every day with no plans of stopping it anytime soon. She believes that extended breastfeeding helps her bond with her children and makes them healthier with a stronger immune system. Now the proud mother regularly shares her breastfeeding photos on social media in a bid to raise awareness of extended nursing and natural parenting. She told Truly: "If you really look deep inside, then usually as a mother, you want to give your child what is best. And breast[feeding] is the best."
